You have your
great idea all ready to WOW the world -- where do you go from there? Learn a
couple of new ideas, get the people you need, and you'll be on your way to
being an entrepreneur. Soon the satisfaction that comes from working your own
hours and financial freedom will be yours.
Let's start the
planning carefully. What are your resources like? You will want to start out as
low-cost as possible without making the product or service a lower quality. Be
creative with your resources, and make them count.
Look for a franchise which has already done it, one which is successful. In other words, you need a mentor. Let their experience guide you with your know-how in business. By choosing a mentor that is successful and well liked, you may find help concerning how best to franchise your company.
Consider joining
business groups in your city to familiarize yourself with the competition as
well as those that could refer business to you and vice versa. This is a great chance to exchange business ideas and information. Some
of the other business owners may have been at this longer, giving them experience
and wisdom.
The reality of
business is the fact that there are, literally, hundreds of people out
there trying to do what you are attempting to do. Some of them have successful
franchises, while others have lost almost everything they own. There are some
crucial points to take note of that could very well be the difference between
you becoming a failure, or becoming a millionaire.
Your product is probably not the first
of its kind, nor will it be the last. What sets it apart from the rest? You
have to believe in your product or service. Then, with the aid of marketing,
make the rest of the world a believer.
From the very start, it is imperative
that you retain the services of an attorney, a trustworthy, honest accountant,
and a marketing executive. Both the attorney and the accountant are easily
retained, however, the marketing consultant, while extremely important, may
pose more difficulty. This person is crucial to the primary stages of the
business venture, since the promotion of your product, design; labels, logos,
etc. are what first gets you noticed.
Get creative, brainstorm with your
marketing executive (if you opted for one).
Teach yourself to think out of the box. There are almost no limits to
what you can do to market your business these days. You like your product, make
everyone else love it. Create a slogan or a jingle that stays in everyone's
head. However, be certain to claim only what you are honestly able to deliver. False
claims lead to dissatisfied customers and possibly a collapsing business before
you even get the franchise rolling in earnest.
Find out what your competition offers
and offer better. If it is low pricing that leads their sales momentum, set
yours lower or offer more for the same amount.
Maybe it is something else. What can you offer that will make their
customers sit up and take notice of you and your franchise? Study their marketing
strategies and learn from them. Remember, your product is the better choice,
prove that to people by your belief in your product.
Put your business out there in the
public eye. Let them see you enough to remember you. A bold marketing campaign
has the ability to create a good reputation for your franchise. Make people aware
of what you have to offer by the use of catchy phrases, rhymes, and songs. Pick
a franchise name that sounds powerful and pick colors that fit.
Once you have
accomplished all of the above, your franchise will be up and running. Keep a
fresh face on your franchise without changing it so much as to confuse customers.
Perform maintenance when needed as your franchise grows and improves, because you
want people to notice the growth, but still recognize you as the same
dependable franchise.
